Organization of clothing by seasons in your child’s closet is key to successfully selling items at Kid’s Closet Connection consignment sales.
If your children’s rooms are feeling stuffed, it’s time to take stock, trim down and whip them into a state of organization! Kid’s Closet Connection spring seasons sales are starting, and selling those warm weather, unused items at our consignment events is a great way to make money…
Use these tips to revamp your child’s repository to be on your way to organization, and take advantage of the seasons ‘ Kid’s Closet Connection consignment sales:
Start Small.
Choose an area of the closet that will lend itself to organization and sort clothing by seasons. That way you can make determinations what items you want to sell at Kid’s Closet Connection consignment sales and feel successful in your purging project.
Clear the clutter.
Step one of organization is to take every single item out of your child’s closet and off the floor. Make piles of clothing based on seasons and size. If your child no longer can wear it or use it, sell it at a consignment sale.
Start from the ground up.
Get everything off the floor and, as you start to go through items, start the organization process by placing them into one of four piles: keep, repair, discard or sell at this seasons ‘ consignment sale.
Treasure or Trash?
Organization of the seasons ‘ consignment pile for sale will have outgrown items, which include everything from clothing and sporting equipment to books and decor items. Chances are, if your children haven’t used an item in two years, or had forgotten about them entirely, it’s time to sell it.
A not-for-profit organization will take donations, during all seasons, if you don’t want to put them into a Kid’s Closet Connection consignment sale. These can include more-worn items that still have life in them, but aren’t necessarily gently-used anymore.
Categorize, “Containerize” and Personalize.
Continue organization by hanging and shelving “like” items together. Drawers and cubbies are also useful during this step of organizing, which includes hanging similar seasons ‘ clothing together. Place items for consignment in marked tubs, to make them easier to tag and sell.
Place smaller items in baskets or see through plastic cartons with lids. Then place these in the appropriate shelving unit or drawer. For further organization, label shelves, containers, cubbies and drawers with their contents and mark with the appropriate seasons and if contents are to be placed in consignment sales.
Keep Closets Clutter-Free.
Creating clutter-free areas are common sense when it comes to the organization of items in a space. The items used most during each of the seasons should be at eye-level and easiest to access.
Move bins marked ” consignment ” out of children’s closets altogether and place in a storage space in basement or attic, until you’re ready to tag and sell.
This organization of children’s everyday items vs. those used for special seasons and those to be sold consignment events will keep everything in your kid’s closets stowed and in tow.
