Enhance Connection: Unlimited Communication for Inmates & Families

Communication is very vital as this links two or a group of people which results in great understanding. It helps make the cycle of the message from the sender to the receiver continuous; which is why, if there will be a hindrance to this cycle, the message we want to convey will not be put across.
This scenario can also be compared to the kind of communication between the inmates and their loved ones have. Both need one another during the most difficult times and communication is the key for them to keep holding on. But we are aware that such kind of open communication is very limited to prisoners due to the fact that it may be the source of anomalies. However, just because a person was brought behind the bars, all of their rights will be barred as well. Guilty or not with the charges pressed against them, they also have the rights to talk with their families and friends. And they are also entitled to unlimited jail calls as long as it is allowed by the family court judge - especially for prisoners who have children that are within the care and responsibility of a close relative.
Having a contact with a family member behind bars gives many benefits to the families as this will further strengthen their bond. The challenges the family is experiencing will make them be closer together than ever which makes communication even more apparent. An open communication between an inmate and their families fills the gap that imprisonment has caused. And from the regular calls made from the services provided by most Telco companies like Verizon, Comcast, Securus, AT&T etc., talking to an inmate family member is like catching up with a loved one that is in abroad. Even though the inmates' role in the family will be limited, this is still possible as long as there are communications.
In addition to this, prisoners also benefited from having a contact to their families outside because they become motivated to change and contemplate on the wrong doings they have committed. Thus, when they were released, they are most likely to lead a productive and crime-free life. With a family member constantly talking to the prisoner, the inmates will be able to stay in touch with what is happening outside which make it easier for them to interact once they are freed. Aside from the contribution of prisoners to child upbringing because they become more caring, concerned and informed as a parent, strong families ties are considered to be one of the strong indicators why some inmates were given parole by the authorities.
That is why if there is a right that should not be taken away from prisoners, that is the right to have an open communication with their families and friends.
