Maintaining a good communication with an incarcerated bi-polar person is important because it helps in keeping a person's emotional and psychological well-being in a stable condition. Even a simple Virginia prison calls can make a difference to a person's life because it diminishes the feeling of being hated by the society. It cannot be denied that once a person has been convicted, we have this thinking that this person is bad which is why they got imprison. However, keep in mind that not all that were imprisoned are because there are people who are wrongfully accuse, but because they do not have the means to defend their selves, they end up rubbing between the cold bars.
But when it comes to giving importance to communication, much emphasis must be given on the prisoners who are suffering from bipolar disorder and other mental illnesses. * Anything that you have disclosed during the counseling can be used against you
* Seeking support from fellow inmates can pose a threat because showing your vulnerability can be stressful
To keep an incarcerated friend or a loved one sane it is best to maintain open line communication with them, build a support network so that communication will become regular, always make yourself availability to your loved ones in prison, when talking with them always ask open-ended questions because this questions can be a therapy to them, encourage your incarcerated loved one to participate on activities that could improve their life inside the correctional facility, or motivate them to attend music and arts program because it diminishes too much longing, plus the fact that it could honed their talents which can be used once they are released.
