Don't worry about any of these problems this summer. Simply be summer ready and try these easy and smarts tips to beat the heat and avoid dehydration.

Follow them to stay hydrated in summers. Always check your body; see if your skin is dry, check your urine colour etc. If the colour of your skin is too dark you are dehydrated. Drink lots of water to avoid dehydration in summers.

Always remain hydrated. Drink as much water as you can before leaving home for work or any activity. Keep a water bottle with you and refill it whenever it is empty. Apart from other liquids, try drinking 2-3 liters of water every day.

Snack on the right foods

Eat fresh fruits and veggies as they contain a very good amount of water. For example, an apple contains up to 84 per cent of water. Similarly vegetables like cucumber and peppers have 96 and 92 per cent of water in it, respectively.

Try other beverages

It is not just water that will keep you hydrated; you have other beverages that keep you cool during summers. Drink a glass of lemonade, aam ka panna, lassi, jal jeera, banana thandai and coconut water every day. You can easily make these excellent summer drinks at home and carry them along in a bottle when go out.

Set the time, drink constantly

Does it happen to you that you forget to drink water or other fluids and remember only when your throat is too dry? If yes, then try keeping an alarm. Set it for every one hour and drink something every time it rings.

Avoid caffeine

Stay away from caffeine. It is found in coffee, colas, and other drinks. Caffeine is one of the causes of dehydration. Drink a glass of sugarcane juice instead of having coffee, you will see its benefits soon.

Stay away from alcohol

Avoiding alcohol is little tough especially when you are partying with friends but at least cut down on it during summers. Beers and wines cause dehydration so avoid drinking alcohol as much as possible. These drinks are diuretic, which absorb water from your body and leads to dehydration.

Avoid outside activities

Try staying at home when it is too hot outside. If possible finish your outside work early in the morning or do it after sunset. The least you face the sun during summers, the safer you are.

Wear light colour clothes

Wear light colours, preferably white, while going out during the day. Light colours and fabric like cotton prevents dehydration by not increasing body temperature to high levels.

Cover yourself properly

When you go out, take an umbrella and cover yourself with a scarf or a light coloured cloth or hat. This protects you from direct sunlight and prevents sun tan.
