Essiac was claimed to be a miracle treatment for cancer after Nurse Rene Caisse had cured several patients in the small town of Bracebridge. However, there is still a lack of conclusive scientific evidence regarding its efficacy in cancer treatment. According to The American Cancer Society, the reviews of medical records of people who were treated with Essiac, do not support the claims that the product helps relieve cancer symptoms (2).

One should note that Rene Caisse prepared the tea on her own and gave it to her patients within 48 hours of making it. But the tea that you order may be several months old and not effective enough. Besides, essiac may interact with certain types of cancer treatments, so it is advisable to take medical advice before using it as a remedy.
