Wedding Invitation Etiquette: Digital Camera Request - Is It Okay?

Question
My fiance and I are planning our wedding and ready to send out invitations.  My wife to be wants to put a disclaimer on the invitations asking those with digital cameras to bring them to the wedding and take pictures, then e-mail copies of the pictures to us, instead of purchasing disposable cameras and giving them to people.  I personally belive this is kind of tacky, but I'm a dude, so what do i know.  Do U have any suggestions, and is it tacky to ask our family on our invitations to bring cameras to the wedding and reception.

Answer
Hi Melvin, It would be considered tacky or in very bad taste to put a note like that in the invitations. It would be on the same line as asking for money which is a no, no.
If you don't want to get all the cameras you would be better off having someone going around taking pictures even like a nephew or niece. Also VERY close family it is ok to get/ask for photos from them but do not put it on the invitation. Sometime after the reception some friends may offer a photo to you too.
