QuestionHI Catherine,for the past two nights as I start to drift off to sleep I experience a single chill that runs down my spine which has kept me from being able to pass on to deep sleep as it come every single time i am dozing off.I noticed my core body tempeture has gone frome a solid 98.6 to 97.3 for the past several months. I am 49 years old and they say my hormone leveles are normal though I dont think so as I have been experiencing menopausal sypmtoms for several years now.thank you so much for your answer.Doris
Answerdoris;
menopause can affect how well women sleep. thats because changes levels of the female sex hormones estrogen and progesterone affect sleep.
women report the most sleep problems during mensopause. changing and decreasing levels of estrogen can cause symptoms that can disrupt sleep,such as hot flashes. body temps,lifestyles.
stress and anxiety play a big part in sleep patterns.
sometime the room temp can effect how you sleep as well.
try keeping your bedroom at a lower temp,60,and see if this helps you to fall asleep.
finding ways to relax before you go to bed,like a warm bath,relaxation exercises.
i hope this all helps,so what;
