Weight Loss for Pear Shapes: Gym Workout & Strategies

Hi Bonnie! I'm wanting to go the gym mostly 3 or 4 times a week, but i dont want muscle, i want to lose weight and drop 2 dress sizes how would i manage to do this? what things would i use in the gym? The only thing i really like in the gym is the running machine, i say i want to drop two dress sizes but im stuck inbetween a size uk10-12 i would like to be 8-10 i collect weight around my bottom hafe so im pear shaped my top hafe of my body is a size 10. i would like to get rid of my bum thighs and caffs ( sorry if thats no the right spelling ) - bottom hafe of my legs and ankles.   do you have any tips as well?

Hi Nicole-thank you for your question.
You can use some of the leg machines at the gym to get rid of the excess weight.
You can do more repititions with less weight to tone your lower half.
Do the leg press,calf press,leg extension,leg curl.
Why don't you start with 4 sets of 10 repititions-you will have to play with the weight to see what is the best for you,the last few repititions need to be hard to do.
You can also do some exercises with just your body get your lower half toned.
Squats
Stationary lunges
Lateral steps
Stair stepping
Doing the treadmill is good,you can also try the eliptical trainer .
Even though you want to work more on your lower body,do not forget your upperbody.
Bicep Curl
Tricep Pressdown
Chest Press
Row
Abs:
Crunches
leg lifts
torso twists
