Answer
Hello Ileana from Miami, U.S.,

Thank you for the complements and the invitation.  I am afraid I like California too much to move to Miami.  However, if the state continues to increase taxation, I might consider it.  I have been truly blessed to provide the care and skills that I have.  I realize that with each successful pregnancy, happy patient and beautiful baby that visits my office.  I am also glad that I can provide this service to patients like you across the country and the world.  I hope it is of benefit.  I also hope and pray that the government does not continue to intervene in medicine, making this task more arduous and less fun.  Many doctors are choosing to leave the profession because of these new restrictions.  With these new rules, the love of providing care is sacrificed because of the need to satisfy requirements, increase the number of patients seen, do more administrative tasks and worry about being scrutinized or audited by insurance companies and the government.  This leaves less time to be face to face with patients, and patient care becomes secondary.  That is probably what you are experiencing now, and the new health care reform bill will only make it worst.

Complements and feedback like you have given me, should be given to all good doctors to help encourage them.  Doctors are feeling more and more like patients don't appreciate the care they give, especially when it is beyond the normal care.  Bedside manner does not seem to be important anymore, only cost.  I provide a boutique type, one-on-one care to me patients spending a minimum of 30 minutes per visit, yet patients still transfer out and go elsewhere.  People always are not appreciative of what they have until they see what else is available.  Your feedback is inspirational to me and gives me strength.  Thank You.

By the way, I have visited Miami and it is a unique and beautiful place with a gorgeous beach.  I loved the feel of the town.  It is no wonder that the "beautiful people" like to live there.
