Cabergoline and Fertility: Understanding Dosage and Ovulation

Question
how do i take cabergoline to get pregnant my endocronologest recently put me on 0.25 mgs of dostinex/cabergoline and told me i may get pregnant on it how do i take it to get pregnant

Answer
Hello Lindsey from the U.S.(New York),

Cabergoline is not a fertility drug.  It is a treatment for hyperprolactinemia (elevated prolactin).  Elevated prolactin can interfere with the ovulation and implantation process and thereby prevent pregnancy, so if elevated, it needs to be brought down to normal.  Taking this medication will not necessarily make you pregnant.  Follow the treatment as prescribed by your endocrinologist. It is not different than in patients with infertility.

Good Luck,
