Pregnancy Nutrition: Safe Foods & Drinks During Pregnancy | FDA Guidelines

I have read mixed articles on foods you are and are NOT suppose to eat while being pregnant.  I'm wondering if you could help me out.  Thank you!!!  Also drinks like I like to drink flavored water, but it is "carbonated" flavored water.

Some seafood is to be avoided due to the high levels of  mercury it may contain. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) encourages pregnant women to avoid:

   * Swordfish
   * Shark
   * King mackerel
   * Tilefish


also unpasteurized cheeses such as

   * Brie
   * Feta
   * Camembert
   * Blue cheese
   * Mexican-style cheeses, such as queso blanco, queso fresco, queso de hoja, queso de crema and queso asadero

as well as caffeine, herbal tea and alcohol.  It is not know what amount of alcohol is safe during pregnancy, so abstinence is the wisest course.


Carbonated water simply means it has bubbles in it, like soda/pop.  Carbonation is not a food.
