Laser Hair Removal Burn: What to Do & What to Expect

Question

leg1
24 hours ago I went for my 4th treatment of laser hair removal on my underarms, bikini, and legs.  All has been well up to this point.  Everything was fine with the underarms and bikini, but when the technician started with my legs, I complained that it was burning.  After she was done, I was too!  My legs already had spots in the shape of the laser on them (just the front of my legs--shin area).  On the drive home, I was in PAIN.  24 hours later the spots are still tender, but not as bad as yesterday.  Also, I have been putting aloe on them.  My sister in law gave me silver sulfadiazine to put on it (she had it left over from a burn her child sustained).  When is this going to go away?  I have attached pictures to help you.  The spots are mostly brown and came up immediately after my "cooking", I mean, "procedure."  Thank you for your help.  I am really worried about this.

Answer
Dear Rose,

I a appologize for the delayed response.  I hope your symptoms have cleared up by now.  Otherwise, you should return to where you received your laser treatments. Perhaps you have extra sensitive skin, or the treatments were not performed properly.  Generally, laser treatments should not cause pain such as you've described.

Best,
Linda Gearke
