Understanding Hair Growth on the Scalp: Why Ingrown Hairs Don't Occur

It's not possible to "get in" grown hairs on your head. Here's why:

* Hair Growth Cycle: Hair grows in a cycle: anagen (growth), catagen (transition), and telogen (resting). Once a hair is fully grown, it doesn't simply "go in."

* Shedding: When a hair reaches the end of its cycle, it sheds naturally. This is a normal process.

* Ingrown Hairs: Ingrown hairs occur when a hair follicle becomes blocked and the hair grows back into the skin instead of out. This is most common in areas of the body with coarse hair, like the legs or armpits.

To summarize: Hair on your head grows, sheds, and then grows again. You can't "get in" grown hairs.
