Hailing from France (350 Chemin Pré Neuf to be exact, I love French stuff) with a tale of overcoming health problems to create an original skincare line. I was sent a few items from their nature based range and the offer of a product for me to giveaway.

Biosphere Naturel Lumiere Day Cream Review

For normal and combination skin types

Ingredients– Aqua, Caprylic capric triglycerides, Helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil*, Glycine soja*, Behenyl alcohol, Nuphar luteum (water lily) root extract*, Glycerin, Arachidyl alcohol, Bambusa arundinacea (bamboo) stem extract*, Oriza sativa (rice powder)*, Microcrystalline cellulose, Cellulose gum, Cetearyl alcohol, Cetearyl glucoside, Arachidyl glucoside, Sodium benzoate, Potassium sorbate, Benzyl alcohol, Tocopherol, Cetyl alcohol, Citric acid, Fragrances (Citronellol,Linalool,Limonene,Eugenol) *from organic farming

Key Ingredients-

• Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides– this is a moisturising agent which has fatty acids from coconut bound to a Glycerin molecule. It’s much less likely to be comedogenic than coconut oil as it’s liquid at room temperature and is generally considered mildly comedogenic.
• Sunflower seed oil– an anti inflammatory oil high in omega 6 fatty acids and vitamin E.
• Glycine Soja– Aka soy bean oil. A natural emoillient containing amino acids, minerals and vitamin E.
• Behenyl alcohol– a texture enhancer, it’s a fatty alcohol and is in no way bad for the skin. There are a couple more fatty alcohols in there- Benzyl and Arachidyl.
• Waterlily root extract– this sounds interesting, gives a possible toning and anti inflammatory effect.
• Bamboo extract– a much used ingredient in Korean skincare, known for it’s hydrating, healing and antioxidant properties.
• Rice powder– used in Asian skincare as a skin soother and lightener. Rice contains some excellent molecules which may benefit the skin- para aminobenzoic acid (a natural spf), allantoin (a skin soother) and Ferulic Acid (an antioxidant).

  

There are some relatively harmless preservatives as you would expect. A cosmetic with no preservatives would most definitely be harmful. The ingredients are good- there are plenty of moisturisers in the form of fatty alcohols, Triglycerides and plant oil. Also soothing natural additives. I’m particularly pleased with the inclusion of rice powder, this sounds great for my pigmentation and acne prone skin.

Biosphere Naturel Lumiere Day Cream does contain some naturally derived fragrance. I personally don’t wish to have fragrance in my facial skincare. The cream is packaged in a pump bottle in a card box. The graphics are dark purple and white. I’m not bowled over by the aesthetics in all honesty. I’m really swayed by typography for some geeky reason and Biosphere Naturel doesn’t exactly float my font boat. I’m chuffed with the pump bottle though, this is ideal for skincare, much better than a jar or tub that lets in air and bacteria.

The cream is white and of a cream/ fluid texture. It looks pretty white on the skin but absorbs to a soft matte finish. The rice powder helps to give a gentle mattifying effect through the day. The perfume is like a floral marzipan which doesn’t fade quickly.

Biosphere Naturel Lumiere Day Cream is a lovely natural moisturiser with soothing effects and didn’t flare up my acne and kept my skin moisturised without greasiness.

Biosphere Naturel Jeunesse Anti Age Cream Review

• Rose flower water– traditionally used in skincare, rose flower water is an astringent which means it helps tighten pores. It’s also hydrating and meant to soothe inflammation.
• Argan Oil– rich in Omega 6 and 9 fatty acids which are lacking in acne prone skin. Also naturally contains vitamin E.
• Coco caprylate caprate– an emollient derived from coconut oil, though not as comedogenic.
• Neroli flower water– soothing and hydrating.
• Shea butter– this is really good for the skin, rich in moisturising fatty acids as well as vitamin A. Has great tissue regenerative properties and acts as a natural spf.
• Raspberry extract– a fantastic natural skincare ingredient, raspberry is rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, Salicylic Acid and tannins. Helps prevent aging and sun damage.
• Plankton extract– a hydrating ingredient with good moisture binding properties.
• Rosemary leaf extract– antioxidant and skin calming effect.
• There are also some emoillient fatty acids and glucosides, texture enhancers, preservatives and naturally derived perfume.

  

I’m happy with the ingredients (apart from the perfume I must say). I like the hydrating flower waters, Argan Oil is an excellent ingredient. Shea Butter is really underrated in skincare, it’s seen so often you could forget how beneficial it really is.

Biosphere Naturel Jeunesse Anti Age Cream comes in a similar pump as Lumiere. It feels richer than the day cream, more emoillient. It doesn’t have the whiteness either. The perfume is similar to Lumiere, a slight marzipan like smell.

Biosphere Naturel Delice De Corps Body Lotion Review

• Wheat straw water– soothing and hydrating, has no gluten and is suitable for those with sensitivity.
• Cocoa seed butter– highly moisturising, rich in fatty acids. Good for reducing scars and inflammation. Cocoa butter is also comedogenic, so be aware if body acne is an issue for you.
• Sunflowerseed oil– high in omega 6 fatty acid and vitamin E.
• Sesame seed oil– high in omega 6 fatty acid, a natural antibacterial and anti inflammatory. Rich in minerals like copper, manganese, calcium and magnesium.
• Sweet almond oil– highly moisturising and rich in antioxidant flavonoids as well as vitamin E.
• Raspberry fruit extract– rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, Salicylic Acid and tannins.
• Rice powder– creates a silky matte texture when the product absorbs. Also has antioxidant and soothing action.

Biosphere Naturel Delice De Corps Body Lotion has some lovely soothing and hydrating ingredients, I think it would make a great body lotion for those with sensitive or dry skin. It comes in a larger size pump bottle. The cream is white and more fluid than the other two Biosphere Naturel creams. It has a light pleasant perfume of raspberry and is my favourite of the three.Delice de Corps absorbs well and leaves my skin feeling moisturised and non greasy.

It’s hard to call a favourite between the three Biosphere Naturel products. I’ve enjoyed using all three equally. During my trial none caused any acne or irritation for me, which is a biggie. I found them all to be great moisturisers, they absorbed really well and their natural organic ingredients a plus. If it’s good for the environment, that makes me happy.
