Effective Ways for Men to Manage Body Odor

Do you agree that men stink much more than women? It is not a gender-war statement. It has been proved scientifically that men have more pungent body odour than women. It is a well known fact that men stink primarily due to the higher levels of testosterone (male hormone) in their body. To contour this problem, men must adopt different ways of fighting body odour.

Here are some of the best ways in which men can fight sweaty smells that make them totally unattractive.

Use The Shower Instead Of Bathtub: You must have noticed that most women's beauty soap commercials show a woman bathing in a tub. But advertisements directed at men always show the man taking a shower. It is better for men to shower because the hard-hitting drops of flowing water clears the body in a better way.

Shave Armpits: The worst kind of odour comes from the armpits. Armpit odour is due to sweat. Now you cannot stop yourself from sweating but shaving the armpits at regular intervals can reduce the smell. This because if the armpit hair is shaved, the sweat doesn't get accumulated.

Unclog Pores: The pungent odour that comes from a man's body is usually due a certain kind of bacteria that grows on sweaty skin. Now you need to unclog your pores to get rid of the offensive smell. Scrub your body at least twice a week with a good body scrub. A mild scrub won't work on a man's tough skin. So make sure you get a good one.

Use Astringent: As mentioned before, body odour is not caused by sweat but a bacteria that grows on sweat. So after you bathe, dry your body completely with a towel. Then apply an astringent that will kill all the bacteria on your skin. Spirit is a good astringent and it also evaporates quickly!

Have Zinc Rich Foods: Scientific research has proved that a deficiency of zinc could cause increased body odour in men. So if you feel that you are experiencing abnormally bad odour from your body, have zinc rich foods like red meat.

Avoid Certain Foods: Caffeine present in coffee, tea and cola can stimulate the endocrine glands to produce more testosterone. So avoid caffeinated drinks as much as possible. Also pungent smelling foods like garlic, onions etc can cause excess body odour. While you cannot stop eating them, try to limit their intake.

These are some special ways in which men can avoid smelling bad. Do you believe that men actually have worse body odour than women?
