What do you need for spa at home?

- Some candles (scented or normal)
- A homemade scrub for face and body
- Some skin care products (loofah, bath sponge, pumice stones)
- Towel and a soft bathrobe
How to do spa at home?
Spa treatment at home is all about relaxation in the comfort of your home. Keep this time exclusively for yourself without any disturbance.
- Give your room a spa-like ambience. Light some candles, pick out your favorite coloured towels and maybe some pillows, anything that will help you to relax.
- Want some nice smell? Put a few drops of your favorite essential oils or some flower petals to your bathing water or light your favorite mild-scented incense sticks.
- Put on your favorite music and get carried away to a different world altogether.
- Prepare some salt and sugar scrub or whichever suits your skin type. You can see it here. Homemade scrubs are the best. Use it on your face and body. Gently exfoliate your body with a loofah or a hand brush.
- You may also get some steam treatment done for your face. Drop in some essential oils to enhance your steam treatment or some drops of lemon juice and mint (pudina) leaves.
- This will open up your pores and give you a refreshed feeling. Very good for acne-prone skin.
- Go in for a hot oil hair treatment (if you wish to) with a mixture of two or more oils. Hot oil massage boosts healthy and shiny hair. See here. (Link it to ‘Hot oil treatment’)
- Use a mud mask or any other mask which suits your skin. Apply it on your face, neck and all over your body to get a refreshed and glowing skin.
- Give yourself a nice pedicure in a warm water foot bath.
- Indulge yourself in a warm water bath. If you have a bathtub, lie down like a princess in the foamed water and relax with a face mask on. If not, don’t worry! Use some essential oils in your bathing water and get a similar rejuvenating effect.
- Finally follow up with your favorite moisturizer or body lotion.
- And then get a good night sleep and wake up fresh to start a new, busy day.
Tips to remember:
- Whenever taking a spa treatment, slip into some loose clothing like a soft bathrobe or an extra large t-shirt.
- No hot water bath. Keep it warm or lukewarm, otherwise it will dry up your skin.
