Best Scrubs for Monsoon: Gentle Exfoliation for Hydrated Skin

Most Effective Scrubs for Monsoon

We wait for monsoons with bated breath after scorching sweltering summers. We dream of having hydrated and supersoft skin. But monsoon brings its own set of skin problems.

The concern here is to feel fresh and fragrant in stuffy monsoons. Say hello to high humidity! It’s going to make your skin irritated, possibly oily, or oilier than it is or perhaps drier, there’s no way to tell! You have to change your beauty routine as per the seasonal change. The season also brings in chances of fungal infections and smelly feet and shoes alike. Okay, the last one wasn’t skin related but still a legit complaint!
There are a few things you can do for happy skin in the monsoons. The number one panacea is exfoliation/scrubbing! Exfoliation increases circulation, removes dead skin and rejuvenates you.

You don’t have to pay a huge price for scrubs as you can make them at home! Here are a few you can try with what you have in your kitchen cabinets. Monsoon fruits are beneficial both to eat and to apply as a face mask.

1. Oatmeal Scrub:

Great for dry skin, especially elbows and knees.

  • Just take half a cup of oatmeal, half a cup of yogurt and add a few drops of Vitamin E oil.
  • Mix together and apply all over body in the shower.
  • Wash off and say hello to beautiful skin!

2. Papaya Scrub:

We all know seasonal fruits are good for you! So why just eat that papaya? Papaya contains natural enzymes that act as exfoliants.

  • Mix up some mashed papaya with some sugar and oatmeal
  • Scrub onto face and wherever else you like.
  • Let it sit for a few minutes and wash off. Enjoy your yummy looking skin!

3. Brown Sugar Scrub:

  • Blend brown sugar and olive oil into a thick granular paste, you’ll have to estimate the quantity according to your preference

5. Strawberry Sugar Scrub:

Strawberries are an excellent exfoliating ingredient. The vitamin C in strawberries also removes sun tan, leaving you with brighter skin.

  • Mash strawberries in a bowl.
  • Drizzle in 3 tablespoons of honey.
  • Apply the mixture and rinse off with lukewarm water.
  • Alternatively make a strawberry sugar scrub by mixing strawberries with 1 cup sugar. Massage in a circular motion and rinse off

6. Banana Sugar Scrub:

Banana based scrubs are moisturising and helps tighten the skin.

  • Mash up 1 bananas with a fork.
  • Add up to 4 tablespoons of sugar.
  • Drizzle in a few drops of vanilla extract.
  • Massage in a circular motion and rinse off.

Remember:

  • Don’t use scrubs more than twice a week.
  • Don’t scrub for more than 2 minutes. Red and raw skin is not fun!
  • Do moisturize after using the scrub.
  • Keep the scrubs handy in your bathroom.

Try these scrubs and make your skin as happy as you feel in the lovely rainy season! Stay beautiful!
