Take a break of 10 minutes and repeat the process. It’s advised that you should not use ice cubes directly as it may result in mild frost bite or soreness.

2. Warm Water:

Warm water is another effective way of curing swollen lips. You just need to take a bowl full of warm water. Soak a washcloth in it, take it out and remove the excess water from the cloth. Now, apply it on your lips for 8-10 minutes. Repeat this process after an hour.

3. Turmeric Powder:

Turmeric powder is known for its antiseptic and healing properties. You can make an herbal ointment using turmeric powder with fuller’s earth and cold water. Mix it well and apply it all over the swollen area. Allow it to stay until dry completely. Wash your lips with lukewarm water. Repeat this process twice a day.

4. Aloe-vera:

Aloe-vera has anti-inflammatory properties. So, it helps in reducing the burning sensation on the lips, thus cure swollen lips. If mosquito bite, insect bite or any allergic reaction is the reason behind your swollen lips, you can use freshly extracted aloe-vera juice or gel to cure it. You just need to take small amount of aloe-vera juice or gel and gently massage over the affected area. Repeat this 2-3 times a day.

5. Baking Soda:

Very few people know that baking soda is a very effective home remedy for curing swollen lips. It’s highly recommended to use baking soda to cure swollen lips if the reason behind the problem is fever blister, allergic reaction, insect bite or mosquito bite. Just take 1 tablespoon baking soda and mix it with some water. Apply a thick coat of this paste on the swollen area. Keep it for 10 minutes and then wash it off with cold water.

6. Honey:

We all know that honey is full of natural healing and anti-bacterial properties. It has been proved that honey is one of the fastest ways to get rid of swollen lips. Just take 1 tablespoon of honey and dip a soft cotton cloth or fresh cotton ball in it. Apply it directly on the affected area. Keep it for 20 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. Repeat this 2-3 times a day.
