Fixing Gooey Nail Polish: Tips for Easier Application

You can't actually *change* the consistency of nail polish once it's been opened. But, you can make it easier to work with! Here are some tips:

To make nail polish less gooey:

* Add a few drops of nail polish thinner: This is the most common solution, but be careful not to add too much. A little goes a long way.

* Roll the bottle between your palms: This helps to mix the polish and distribute the thinner evenly.

* Store it properly: Keep your nail polish in a cool, dark place. Heat and sunlight can cause it to thicken.

* Don't shake it: Shaking can create air bubbles, making the polish gooey. Roll it instead.

* Use a clean brush: A dirty brush can trap polish and make it clumpy. Clean your brushes regularly with acetone.

* Invest in a good quality polish: Some brands are simply more prone to thickening than others. Look for polishes that are known for their longevity and smooth consistency.

If your polish is already too thick, it might be time to replace it. Thickened polish can be difficult to apply and may not dry properly, leading to chips and smudges.
