    Dinner Party Festive

Get glowing: "Rose gold is the hottest metal this season," says makeup artist Brit Cochran, who created these looks. Triple the impact by wearing it three ways. First, sweep a shimmery rose-gold eyeshadow over your lids, blending it into the creases. Then define your eyes using a black pencil on the inner rims. Coat lashes with mascara. Using a fluffy brush, dust the rose-gold shadow on your cheeks for a romantic glow. Finish with a swipe of pink nude gloss and a dab of rose-gold powder on your cupid's bow.

    Rock and Roll

The holidays are the perfect time to change up your hair, even if it's for one night. A faux bob allows you to fake a cut without any commitment: Wrap one-and-a-half-inch sections around the barrel of a curling iron to get soft waves. For definition, run a dollop of flexible-hold wax through your locks. "Gather hair into a low ponytail and secure it with an elastic four inches from your head," says Kozmo, the hairstylist who came up with these styles. Starting at the end of the ponytail, roll your hair and fasten it with bobby pins. Pull out pieces for a softer look.

    Office Cocktail Party Chic

Pretty your pout: Update classic red lips by swapping a traditional blue-based shade for a punchy orange-red lipstick. Using a pointed lip brush, trace your lip line, then fill in lips. "It takes a little more patience but gives you a precise application," Cochran says. And don't freak if you make a mistake; clean up any smudges with a cotton swab dipped in makeup remover or a touch of concealer. Finish by dabbing lips with a little pressed powder. Highlight your eyes with gold shadow on the lids and brown in the creases, and apply a coat of mascara.

    Make Waves

To ensure that your waves won't fall flat after one drink, try this style on hair that hasn't been washed for a day or two (or give clean hair grip with a spritz of dry shampoo at the roots). Form a crisp middle part, then mist dry hair with a setting spray. Wrap two-inch sections around a curling iron, winding them away from your face. Break up the ringlets with your fingers for a more relaxed look. Sweep hair over one shoulder and slide in a few bobby pins — gold for blondes, black for brunettes — at the nape of your neck to lock it in place. Top it off with a shot of hair spray for additional staying power.

    Weekend Casual

Go natural: For a low-key look while you're putting the finishing touches on your gifts and decorations, shift into neutral. The focus here is pastel-peach lips. For the smoothest application, prep your lips with a hydrating balm. Let it soak in for a few minutes, then apply matte pastel-peach lipstick using your finger to pat it on (pink-peach shades flatter light skin tones, and orange-peach dazzles on darker ones). Complement lips by buffing a peach powder along your cheekbones and brushing a taupe shadow over your lids.

    Divide and Conquer

Score a simple yet polished style by wearing your hair half up. If you have naturally wavy hair, run a smoothing cream through it and air-dry. If your hair is straight, curl two-inch sections to get messy-sexy texture. Make a center part; then, starting at your ears, pull the top layer of hair back and secure it with an elastic. Get creative like Kozmo did on-set when he wrapped a thin piece of twine around the base of the ponytail for unexpected rustic flair.

Pile on the style: Nothing says celebration like bold accessories. This season is all about sparkly diamonds (faux are fine) — and the more, the merrier. A classic Fair Isle sweater will look fashion forward when paired with dazzling drop earrings and a stack of arm candy. Dress up gorgeous skin with the glimmer of an intricate necklace; add glittery nail polish and a statement-making ring or two. Bling it on!

    New Year's Eve Sexy

Wing it: Forget smoky eyes. Emerald green cat eyes are this season's updated version. Two reasons you'll love them: "Green is flattering on everyone," Cochran says. "And if you've been skimping on sleep, the winged shape will perk up your eyes." Use an emerald green chubby shadow stick to outline the shape: Trace it along the creases, flick it up at the outer corners, and then connect the line to the lower lashes. (The wings should be even with the ends of your eyebrows.) Fill in the outline with a shimmery deep-green powder shadow. To add extra oomph to your lashes, use your mascara wand to coat a small fan-shaped makeup brush with mascara, then brush it on lashes. "This deposits the mascara right at the roots so lashes look thicker," Cochran explains. Keep cheeks and lips simple with a matte bronzer and pink gloss.

    Pony Up

You've mastered the gym ponytail, so this updo will be a no-brainer. Use a flatiron on dry hair to make strands supersleek, Kozmo says. Then gather hair into a high pony. Smooth out any bumps with a rattail comb and mist on a dry oil spray to give hair tons of shine. Dress up the elastic by wrapping a piece of black leather around it.
