Neon Makeup Tutorial: Bold & Bright Looks for Confident Individuals

Everyone can pull off neutrals, you don’t need attitude to work them! But neon makeup looks, they’re another story! You need a strong fun and confident personality to wear highlighter colours! So, if the neon makeup look is for you, keep reading baby! I’ve gone over the top with this look and I love it!

Neon Makeup Ideas:

• Use a white base, it makes colours look more vibrant.

• Put on your foundation and powder later as you may make mistakes in complicated looks and leave your foundation patchy by wiping.

• Best colours for neon eyes are yellow, orange, pink and blue. If you have the basic yellow, pink and blue, you can make any secondary colours.

• Keep rest of the makeup simple and balanced.

• For a more subdued neon look, try liners in bright colours.

Let’s start! Neon Makeup Tutorial

Step 1: Use a white base, I used a white eye pencil all over the eye area, lower and upper.

Step 2: Use a black eyeshadow and draw out the outside of the crease.

Step 3: Use a teal/ bright turquoise eyeshadow and fill the outer third of the eye, go over the crease and blend the black.

Step 4: Use a bright yellow shadow and fill in the center of the eyelid, blend slightly into the teal and crease to give more dimension.

Step 5: In the inner third of the eye, use a butter yellow shadow or blend whatever yellow is left on the brush from before.

Step 6: Over the lower lashline (over the white) fill in a bright pink shadow, be careful of fallout!

That’s the eyeshadow bit!

Now for the liner:

Step 1: Make a pointed triangle around the inner V of the eye.

Step 2: Connect it with a dramatic winged liner.

Step 3: On the lower lid, draw a line going straight out.

Step 4: Connect it to the lash line in a V shape and fill.

Step 5: Fill in the space between the two wings with white eyeshadow.

Step 6: Line the water line and put on a lot of mascara, and you’re done!
