To be pregnant is to be alive!
Ah! The joy of being a mom-to-be! The very fact that there is a little life growing inside of you makes pregnancy beautiful. It is that one phase of a woman’s life that changes everything about her. Pregnancy causes all types of hormonal changes in the body. Your lifestyle, body, skin, everything undergoes changes. It changes you as a person too. It is a special feeling and every woman treasures it.
But as the body copes up with the changes happening inside, it shows on the face too. Gradually the skin complexion and skin type changes. Dark patches start appearing on the face. Skin becomes extra sensitive. Suddenly you experience a lot of skin nuisances. So it becomes essential to select beauty products carefully, very carefully.
While you feel beautiful inside, you sure want to look the same outside. Make sure you lock up all your previous cosmetics in the closet. It is time to get new sets of cosmetics.
Concealers can be your best friend at this time. So invest in a good one to hide any blotchy patches or dark circles.
Your skin might get extra oily during pregnancy. So if you’ve been using cream based cosmetics all this while, replace those with normal ones.

Apart from these, a little care towards the way you wear your makeup can help add glamour to your pregnancy. Here are a few makeup tips to help you attract all the attention as a Mom-to-be!
With pregnancy, you are sure to put on weight. You can’t do anything about the changes in your body and figure. And why should you? But you sure can try and make your face look less round and full. So use a large, fluffy brush to blend a powder or bronzer (a couple of shades darker than your normal skin colour) below your chin line. This is to define your jaw line and minimize a double chin. It will instantly create an illusion of a slimmer face.
You might look dull when pregnant due to the various sicknesses every now and then. So give your face a lift, make your skin glow with a blush. Bobby brown suggests something very useful to give all pregnant ladies a mood boost. “Blush is the best way to give yourself a boost,” says Brown. Her signature technique is to apply a bronzer or skin tone blush across the whole cheek as a base. Then follow it with a splash of pink, right on the ‘apple’ for a natural I-just-finished-exercising, look.
You can also give yourself a beauty and mood boost by wearing a clean, fresh scent. Choose something light and pretty, says Brown, since your sense of smell is heightened during pregnancy.
Brown, of Bobbi Brown fame, suggests keeping your makeup plain and simple.
Her list of makeup essentials for pregnant women includes:
For best results, Brown recommends first putting on concealer (one shade lighter than your foundation) just where it seems necessary. In fact she feels a concealer may be all you need. Then apply foundation, but only on the areas without concealer. Doubling up just cancels out the effect of the concealer, she says. Brown suggests wearing light makeup instead of skipping makeup altogether.
So these were some of the ways of adding a sparkle to your pregnancy. Remember, just because you are pregnant, does not mean you stop worrying about your style and looks. You must look and feel good at all times. Invest in maternity clothes, wear a little makeup. Stop worrying about your size. This is the most beautiful phase of your life so enjoy it to the fullest and enjoy it in style. Pamper yourself, smile a lot and always be and feel happy. A happy mom-to-be!
