On an ordinary day I open my make –up draw. I reach for my lipstick. I twist it up and apply it with precision. It is a ritual for every woman that loves to add a little color to her life.
Years and years have passed with everything getting re-mixed. It is but obvious that the dainty little lipstick had to undergo a huge change too. Here I have a show and tell of the latest in Haute Couture Lips or what we now call the lip makeup art
A Lip tattoo is a temporary stain that is pressed on to the lips. If you remember the stick on tattoos you used get as a child then this is very similar to that. This trend recently went commercial with girls opting for this as a Halloween look. Leopard prints, Cheetah prints, Flags, rainbow colors. You think it and they have got it! These tattoos last up to a good 4- 5 hours with drinking and eating. It is the quality of fun and ease coupled into one simple sticker that has earned such amazing popularity. They are a fun way to spice up your lips with some not so traditional lip make up designs
After the hair, Smokey eyes it’s the turn of the lips. Ombre is a shading technique by which the color moves from dark to light. This trend has recently hit the magazines and runway. Ombre can be done with two colors or a single color. Usually one lip is done dark while the other is done light. It can be done using a conceler to fade out the color or two lipsticks of the same color group. This is great for fancy dress themes or a masquerade party.

We all know that all a girl wants in life is a little bit of glamour. The crowning glory of any pouty prowess has to be some jewels on the lips. This trend was spotted first in the mainstream media by Jessie in her price tag video. To get the look all you need is some studs that you can find at any embroidery store. Next take some sticky gloss. Apply a thick layer and then stud your lips with tweezers. This obviously will not last long. It is good for Photo shoots and showing-off purposes.

Bright bold lips almost always make a statement when in on the runway or the street. The mainstream introduction of this was with the coral/orange lip that hit make-up counters a few years ago.
This season pastels are the color especially with color blocking becoming a huge trend. Lilac, pastel green and light blue would be amazing to try for making your lips a fashion statement. It is best to apply a concealer before you apply the lipstick in order to make the color pop.
