Materials:
* White cloth or paper towels
* Dish soap
* Warm water
* Spoon or blunt knife (optional)
* Carpet cleaner (optional)
Steps:
1. Blot: Gently blot the lip gloss stain with a white cloth or paper towel. Avoid rubbing, which can spread the gloss and make it harder to remove.
2. Scrape (optional): If the gloss is thick or has hardened, use a spoon or blunt knife to gently scrape off as much as possible. Be careful not to damage the carpet fibers.
3. Dish soap solution: Mix a small amount of dish soap with warm water in a bowl. You want a soapy solution, but not too bubbly.
4. Apply solution: Dip a clean cloth or paper towel into the soapy solution and gently dab it onto the stain. Work from the outside of the stain inwards to prevent spreading.
5. Blot again: Use a clean dry cloth or paper towel to blot up the soapy solution.
6. Repeat: Repeat steps 4 and 5 as needed until the stain is gone.
7. Rinse: Once the stain is gone, dampen a clean cloth with plain water and wipe the area to remove any soapy residue.
8. Dry: Allow the area to air dry completely.
Additional Tips:
* Act quickly: The sooner you start cleaning, the better the chances of removing the stain.
* Test in an inconspicuous area: If you are unsure about using a cleaning product on your carpet, test it in an inconspicuous area first to make sure it doesn't damage the carpet.
* For stubborn stains: If the stain persists, you can try a commercial carpet cleaner. Follow the instructions on the product label carefully.
Important Note: Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents, as these can damage your carpet fibers.
