Malvern Braces vs. Invisalign: Understanding the Commitment

If you're one of the many people who have considered the advantages of clear braces, particularly those available from Invisalign, then one of the questions which you will probably have at least considered at some point is this: why would anybody decide against clear Malvern Braces ?

The fact is that wearing Hot Springs Braces at any age is a decision that is not made easily unless the teeth are in such a condition that to not wear braces could cause severe problems later on. Wearing braces is often a commitment for a number of years, and it's one of the most visibly obvious cosmetic treatments that is possible.

Although most braces aren't exactly uncomfortable, most people would agree that their mouths feel more comfortable without Hot Springs Braces that with them, which is entirely understandable. For most people the two significant advantages with wearing clear braces compared to standard metal or wire braces is that firstly they are virtually invisible, so that unless anybody looks closely at your teeth it is unlikely that they'll even know that you're wearing braces at all. The second advantage of wearing invisible braces such as those manufactured by Invisalign is that the period of time required to wear the braces is significantly less.

Typically anybody choosing Hot Springs fitted will expect to have them in for a period of at least two years. Clear braces will usually only be in place for a matter of a few months, which is a real advantage. So Invisalign braces are virtually undetectable, and need only be worn for a very much shorter period of time. There is a third advantage which is that the end results are generally much more accurate and assured, since traditional braces are based more or less on guesswork and professional intuition, whereas Invisalign braces are designed by computer using advanced 3-D modelling and virtual reality simulation of your teeth.

So with all of these advantages, are there any reasons why anyone would choose not to have clear braces or Invisalign braces? The answer is that yes, there certainly are issues which it will be very important to consider, and it is certainly true that invisible braces are not for everyone. If you are considering having invisible braces fitted then it is critical that you are aware well in advance of not only the many benefits which they offer in terms of appearance, comfort, accuracy and overall timeframe required, but also some of the difficulties, restrictions and requirements which can put some people off.

For example, with traditional braces you will have them fitted, and then be required to visit the dentist a few times over the course of the two or three years you'll be having the Malvern Braces in. With invisible braces or clear braces you will be required to visit your dentist every fortnight throughout the entire period. On each occasion you will be given a new set of braces to wear which will replace the previous set. Each set of braces is slightly different from the previous set, and this is how a consistent amount of pressure is applied in the right way, because each subsequent sets of Invisalign braces is a computer planned incremental stage towards the final alignment of your teeth.

This is certainly a commitment which it is important to bear in mind, but what is also important to consider is that clear Malvern Braces require a great deal more self control than traditional ones. Why is this? Unlike with traditional braces it is possible to remove Invisalign braces yourself at any time. While that is a good thing, providing even greater flexibility, it requires a great deal of self-control and determination to ensure that the clear braces remain worn for at least 23 hours out of every 24 hour period, otherwise there is a very real risk that the braces will no longer fit, and the process may have to be started all over again.
