Disable Your ADT Alarm Chime: A Simple Guide

In addition to equipping your home with an alarm that will immediately alert a customer monitoring center when triggered, an ADT alarm also features a chime that sounds when people enter and leave your house. The home alarm chime feature works when the alarm is disabled, and will let you know who is in your home. If you'd prefer not to hear the chime, or have so many party guests that it becomes a disruption, you can turn it off in a few easy steps.

1. To disable the chime feature, open the door on the front of the alarm and press the * and 4 buttons simultaneously.
2. If the chime feature is already turned on, you can turn it off simply by pressing the "chime" button for 2 seconds.
3. Close the door on the front of the alarm.
4. To turn the chime feature back on, repeat the process by either pressing the * and 4 buttons down together,  or by pressing the "chime" button for 2 seconds.
