Leather is the most durable material available, as leather items hold their value over time better than any other fabric item. Although you may try to protect your leather from spills and stains, accidents can occur. Ink from pens or other sources can stain the leather, ruining the leather's appearance. Before you panic and assume your leather item is ruined, realize the ink can be removed with certain solutions and techniques. Remove the ink stain immediately to prevent the ink dyes from soaking into the leather and becoming difficult to remove.
Dip a cotton swab into rubbing alcohol. Swipe the swab over a hidden area of the leather, and then inspect the leather for discoloration or other damage.
Dampen the cotton swab with more rubbing alcohol, and then rub the cotton swab over the ink stain. Dry the affected area with a blow dryer, to prevent smearing the ink.
Inspect the leather to see if the stain still remains. If so, dampen a soft cloth with small amount of acetone-free nail polish remover.
Rub the soft cloth over the ink to thoroughly remove the remaining stain.
Clean and restore the moisture to the leather by applying leather cleaner according to the manufacturer's instructions,
