Washing gasoline soaked clothing in your washing machine will leave you with a washer that reeks of fuel. The odors from the washing machine can transfer to other clothing that you subsequently place inside the washer, and can also fill your home with a gasoline smell. Fortunately, removing the odors is a relatively simple process.
Fill a container with 2 cups of distilled white vinegar.
Add ½ cup baking soda to the vinegar and mix thoroughly. Vinegar and baking soda are natural deodorizers that remove odors without using harsh chemicals.
Set your washing machine to the hottest setting and allow the drum to begin to fill with water.
Add the vinegar-baking soda to the washing machine. Shut the lid and allow the washer to run through a complete cycle.
Repeat the process until the gasoline smell is gone.
