Have you ever lusted after that one luxury item of clothing? It
could be a dress, a pair of Jimmy Choos or the latest Armani
Jeans. Yet you tell yourself no, it’s just too expensive, and
move on to buy half a dozen inferior but more practical garments
for the same money.
Unless you are a compulsive shopaholic or in serious personal
debt: buy it. I’m not saying you should do so every month, let
alone week but I will tell you this: in your second best choice
you will always feel second best.
Although it is not a guarantee, a high price tag suggest higher
quality. My £10 George jeans wore away after four months,
whereas my £60 Donna Karan ones are still going strong three
years later. Although it is often subconscious people do notice
the cut of a quality garment over an off the peg equivalent. But
there is something far more important than both these factors.
It’s how you feel.
That moment of indulgence leaves you on a high. What’s more,
every time you wear that special garment you will feel at your
best. No matter your age and figure, self confidence is
attractive. Your head rides higher, your walk is firmer and you
smile more. What price tag can you put on that?
