Moreover, if you chew your food properly, then digestion becomes easier as the saliva breaks down the food particles and softens it. Alpha amylase enzyme and lingual lipase enzymes in the saliva helps break down the carbohydrates and fat in the food.
Avoid sodas and juice: We often think that sodas can help take out stomach gas and reduce pain. However, carbonated drinks lead to gastric problems. The bubbles in carbonated drinks and sugar in fruit juices can cause gas. That is why, even after having sodas or fruit juice, you feel bloated.
Do not chew gum: This is one of the best ways to reduce stomach gas. Ingestion of air causes gas and can also lead to indigestion. So, while eating a chewing gum or meal, unwanted air enters the body through the mouth thus causing gastric problems.
Walk down the lane: After having a heavy or light meal, go for a small walk. This will help you as walking enhances the digestive system and helps break down hard food particles in the stomach. It also helps lose weight. So, walk for sometime after having your meal.
Stop smoking: Well you might have heard this many times. But, this is one of the side effects of nicotine that are unknown to many smokers. Smoking not only leads to dehydration but also causes gas. To reduce this health problem, quit smoking.
Go herbal: There are many herbs and spices like clove, star anise, fennel seeds, carom seeds and few others that can help reduce gas in the stomach. Have it with hot water to reduce stomach gas and pain.
