1. Harmful To Pregnant Women:

Neem tablets can be harmful to pregnant women. A study has shown that neem can cause harmful effects such as blood toxicity to the unborn baby after its consumption. Therefore, pregnant ladies should avoid the intake of neem tablets to prevent miscarriage. Lactating mothers are also advised to evade neem tablet consumption.

2. Cause Infant Death:

Neem supplements can cause infant death, even if a small dose of neem supplements is given to them. Do not ever try to give your child any neem product for treating fever. Neem has compounds the same as Aspirin that can cause Reye’s syndrome in children. Some of the side effects observed in the study were touchiness, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, brain problems, and in serious cases, even coma.

3. Cause Stomach Disorders:

Neem tablets, if consumed, can cause stomach disorders such as diarrhea. Hence people with poor digestion should not take neem supplements. Some people use it for improving digestion, but in many cases it has been observed that they are not benefitting with neem. Instead, they suffer from stomach discomforts. If you can limit its intake, you can avoid complications.

4. Overdose Can Be Toxic:

People with a history of kidney problems or liver disorders should stay away from neem tablets as the active ingredients present in the neem can be toxic for them. Avoid long term intake of neem. In some cases short term use have shown no side effects.

5. Interferes With Blood Sugar:

Neem can interfere with the blood sugar levels before or after a surgery. So, for a successful surgery it is better to avoid its usage 2 weeks before the surgery. If the surgery is related to organ transplant, then neem tablet consumption can make the immunosuppressant ineffective, which is given to prevent organ rejection. Diabetic people should not take neem tablets.

6. Fatigue:

The most common side effect of neem tablet is fatigue. If you are sick, then your fatigue levels can increase to a higher level if you consume a neem tablet. Neem has a tendency to make you feel tired and hence if you take more than the prescribed amount of neem tablets, you will not be able to go through the day without taking a nap.

7. Dangerous For Autoimmune Patients:

Neem is known for its immunity boosting properties. But people, who are suffering from autoimmune diseases, can be in danger if they consume neem tablets. Hence people who have multiple sclerosis, arthritis, lupus and other such diseases should avoid neem supplements.

8. Leads To Infertility:

Neem has another side effect which can cause infertility in people. Neem is used extensively in making insecticides and pesticides for the prevention of the growth of pests on plants. Neem tablets can increase the immune system of the body to rise above the normal level, which can be useful for some people, but those who are planning for a baby should not go for it. It can stop the reproduction process. It is said that neem was used as a birth control measure in olden days. Due to this property, neem was also used to cause abortion.
