Workout Nausea & Fat Loss: Expert Advice for Men
QuestionI am a 33 yr old male and I am about 12-15lbs overweight. Most of it is in the midsection. I am beginning a new workout program and I have two questions. First, what does it mean if I feel nauseated after working out? Second, is it a reasonable goal to try to lose 15lbs of body fat in 6-7 weeks? Any advice and/or tips on caloric intake and foods would be appreciated! Thank you.
AnswerI cannot tell you exactly why you are feeling nauseated after working out! However I can say that you may want to make sure you are properly hydrated before, during and after working out; that you are not eating a large meal right before or on the other hand working out on an empty stomach (should just have something light); or you may want to be sure you are not over-exerting yourself too much- make sure you are doing a workout that is right for you and not starting out with too much too fast. As far as body fat, a reasonable goal for body WEIGHT is 1-2 pounds per week. As long as you are doing aerobic exercise, which burns stored body fat and watching your diet by eating healthy and watching portion sizes, a good majority of your weight loss should be body fat. When you lose weight too quickly you lose more muscle than fat. When you lose weight you don't only lose body fat so it is hard to say what a reasonable goal is in a certain amount of time.
