QuestionWhat is the best form of mag to take? Oxide, Citrate, Stearate, etc.??? I tried the citrate and it immediately gave me an upset stomach. I'm not taking Oxide and it is much better on my stomach. I'm only taking 350 mg...and I'm taking it for my heart (I have palpitations pretty bad). Thanks!
AnswerHi Shea,
Mag carbonate is not that soluble, so I wouldn't waste my $$ on that (dolomite).
Mag oxide is better than carbonate, but still not the highest quality.
I would recommend a chelated magnesium supplement, which would be Mag aspartate or citrate (sulfate is fine too). These are more $, but well worth it, because they have a high level of solubility and bioavailability in the body, particularly if you are taking it for heart palpitations!
