Understanding Abnormal Cells: Causes, Risks & What to Expect

my sister just had a breast biopsy, report said abnormal cells, so does this always mean cancer! or what else can it be, they are going to do surgery to remove it, i know we will learn more after that, but if you could explain other and all meanings of abnormal cells and could this be nothing, thanks Debbie

It does not have to mean a full blown cancer, but it must mean that cancer is suspected, a possibility. It can be something that is developing into a cancer but not quite there yet. Or a real cancer. We will have to wait for the final results to know!
