Hair treatment:

Add a teaspoon of baking soda to your usual shampoo bottle to get rid of oily and greasy hair. Likewise, sprinkling little baking soda on your dry hair and combing will help your hair in retaining the shine. Baking soda also helps in removing chlorine from your hair. Rinse your hair with 1/2 teaspoon baking soda in 1 mug of water to remove the dullness or discolouration caused by chlorinated water.

Hands:

Instead of getting a manicure spa done at the parlour, use this beauty ingredient at home. Mix baking soda in water or liquid soap. Rubbing it on your hands will not only clean your hands but also help get rid of roughness. Rubbing baking soda on the elbows will also smooth away rough skin and whitens it.

Nail care:

In order to get clean and shiny finger and toenails, try scrubbing them with a nailbrush dipped in baking soda. This also softens cuticles and also cleans minute dirt that can hide under the nails.

If you have cracked heels, then treat it with baking soda. Soak your tired feet in a bucket of warm water mixed with 3 tablespoons baking soda. Has your skin become dark and pale due to over exposure to the sun? Make a paste of baking soda with water in equal quantity and apply on the affected area.

Soothing baths:

This is one of the beauty uses of baking soda. Add baking soda to the bathwater to soften the skin. Another way to use it for body care is, make a paste using 1/2 cup of baking soda, 1/2 cup cornstarch and mix them together. Apply this mixture and take shower. This body scrub relieves you from itchy skin and also softens your it.

Deodorant:

Puffing baking soda with equal amount of talcum powder will leave you with long lasting freshness REFRAME. Adding a pinch of baking soda in the water helps get rid of body odour.

 

 

Toothpaste:

To get a sparking white teeth, mix 2 teaspoon of baking soda with half teaspoon of salt, add few drops of glycerin and enough water to make a paste. You can store this paste and use little bit of this paste to brush your teeth. This also helps in getting rid of bad breath.

Face mask

Apart from scrubbing baking soda can be used as a face mask. Make a fine paste of baking soda, oatmeal and honey. Add enough water to make a thick paste. Apply it on the face and leave it for 15 minutes. Rinse it off properly and enjoy your soft and supple skin

Shaving

Aftershave creams can have many side effects. Men, especially with sensitive skin may get an easy solution by cleansing your facial skin with 1 tablespoon baking soda in 1 cup water for a soothing aftershave rinse. And for instant relief from razor burns, apply a baking-soda solution.
