But the out look to getting beautiful has certainly changed. As Indians we have been known to have home remedies for everything under the sun, including skin problems. But in this century, everyone would rather use commercial products!
The products on the market aren’t bad but sometimes your skin needs a good ol’ fashion detox, featuring your grandma’s favorite recipe! No matter what your skin type is, something in this list of traditional skin care tips can certainly help you out.
Proteins and fats are the best for dry and irritated skin. Try and include these in your diet from eggs, pulses and healthy oils. You can also mix them up and use them in face masks.

1. Make and apply a paste of egg yolk, oatmeal and olive oil on your face. Make sure it isn’t
too drippy, leave on for 15 minutes and wash off.
2. Fresh cream is god sent in winter for dry skin. While you’re making a delicious breakfast of
oatmeal, cream and honey, mix up a batch for your face. Apply and wait for 20 minutes. Then
rinse.
3. Mix up one egg white and half of a lemon to easily deal with blackheads.
4. A mixture of egg yolks, olive oil and lemon can remove suntan and add a glow to your face.
5. A combination of sour cream, honey and lemon juice can help exfoliate and moisturize any
dry skin.
6. Honey, lemon and olive oil make a divine mix for dry skin. Massage it in for a few seconds,
leave on for 10-15 minutes and then wash off. The lemon will brighten your skin too!
7. Combine the pulp of an avocado, ½ teaspoon lemon juice and 1 egg white. Whip this up into
a paste and apply on face and rinse it off when it’s dry.
The people with oily skin have a hassle to face. They are often pitied by the others. Maintenance gets very hard with age! But even for this problematic skin, there are natural solutions.
8. Make a mixture of honey and gram flour and apply on skin to absorb excess sebum and
clear up any acne.
9. Lemon and honey are a wonderful mix for your skin. Don’t use olive oil though, that’s for
your dry skinned sister.
10. Cucumber juice is refreshing and toning. As is tomato juice. Tomato juice also helps large
pores and acne!
11. Mix up oatmeal and shredded cucumber and apply on face for another invigorating face
mask.
12. Pineapple juice brushed on skin and left for 5 minutes and rinsed off leaves skin acne free!
13. Make a mixture of honey, banana and lemon juice and apply it on face for 15 minutes. Use
this once a week to apply healthier skin.
The conclusion is that if you can buy any product in the bottled form, it also has an all-natural recipe that you can easily whip up.
