Essential Travel Beauty Kit: 10 Must-Have Products for Your Vacation

Come summer, or rather for any vacation, it gets a bit daunting about what you actually need to carry. I have a list of best holiday beauty products that I need to carry with me no matter how long the vacation is. These things are a must to have when you travel for a rejuvenated you!

Best holiday beauty products:

1. A Lip Balm:

This one should be a part of your daily routine too. A lip balm will not only protect and heal your lips, but it can also serves as an excellent option and as a base before you apply a lipstick. The lipstick will last longer and your lips will be protected. This is among my never ever forget of the holiday beauty products.

2. Face wash:

Choose your facewash depending on the season. In the summers, opt for a gel based or clear faces wash with citrusy fragrances because that will pep you up! If you are vacationing in the winter, choose a cream base face wash because it will also help to moisturize your skin.

3. Face scrub:

This is a must to get rid of the dirt and grime. Choose a mild scrub that will exfoliate gently and also lighten your skin. Use a face scrub at least once a day when you are on a vacation.

4. Shampoo & Conditioners:

I don’t quite trust the miniature bottles that are kept in the bath in the hotels, no matter how attractive they look. If you have a brand that suits your hair, include that in the must have items when you travel.  Sometimes carrying both the bottles can take up space, so stick to a shampoo that doubles up as a shampoo and conditioner or opt for a mild shampoo that will not require a follow up with the conditioner.

5. Body Wash:

Those fragrant soaps should be a no-no. Carry a bottle of your body wash and a loofah that you can use. It helps! You are at least sure of what you are using. A body wash is as effective as a soap and when used with a loofah, you can be assured of a gentle exfoliation too!

6. Moisturizer:

Carry one that has adequate amount of SPF to also protect you from the harsh sunlight. If you are going be outdoors most of the time, it would be great if you can re-apply the moisturizer/sunscreen every 4 hours.

7. Foot Soak:

This one is a nice to have item if you know that your vacation is going to be a strenuous one that will involve walking, climbing or trekking. Nothing is more relaxing than soaking your feet in a tub of hot water with healing foot soaks. Use soaks that have a combination of Himalayan and Epsom salts because they have healing properties and will relax your feet.  Follow it up with a quick massage with the foot cream.

8. Foot Cream/Oil:

There is nothing more relaxing than a foot massage. Even if you have skipped step 6, wash your legs with warm water and massage a foot oil or cream gently till is absorbed. A foot massage will help you relax those strained nerves and promote a comfortable sleep.

9. Lipstick:

Never leave home without your favourite colour especially when you are going out of town! You meet new people and first impressions count. The confidence that a swipe of your lipstick brings is simply amazing. Looking good always makes you feel good to.

10. Mascara:

We constantly underestimate the power of the mascara! While the kajal highlights your eyes, the mascara opens them up and gives it a new life. You don’t need much of anything else for the day if you have the lip colour, kajal and mascara taken care off.

My tip: If I get these miniatures or samples that last about two uses, I pack it in my travel tote bag and don’t carry the full sized bottles. I use the miniatures for shorter trips that last about 2 days. These are my essential top holiday beauty products.
