When they're rocking the red carpet, celebs get a lot of help from makeup artists. Discover a few of the best celebrity secrets you can try yourself.
Eye makeup can sometimes become highly intimidating for
even the most cosmetic savvy of us. We've all been wondering what
tips and tricks celebrity makeup artists use to get that fabulous
looks. Here are some of them!
Megan Fox's not-so-smoky eye makeup seems less complicated than the
usual heavy, darker version. Her secret? Before applying eye
makeup, dust on a translucent loose powder on the lids and under
the eyes. This will keep eye shadow from creasing quickly. Then
line the inner rims with gray or black liner, and smudge along the
top outer corners. Apply touches of eyeshadow across the lids and
blend. Try NYX Glam Eyeshadow in Golden Glow. Using the same
shadow, carefully line the lower lashes with a brush. Individual
false lashes finish the look.
The new diffused cat eye makes a statement of its own, somehow
looking both pretty and bold, as January Jones proved it. The
secret to create this makeup is to rim the inside of the eyes with
a kohl cake liner, then apply neutral shadow on the entire lid as
base. You can try out shades like gray and navy, if you want a
break from black. Next, dot the outer corners with liner in an
upward sweeping point for a soft cat eye. Make sure to line as
close to your lashes as possible for a defined look. Smudge with a
fluffy brush and put on tons of mascara. Try L'Oreal Color Riche Eyeshadow Quad in Cookies &
Cream
Your friends will most certainly envy you once you manage pull off
Olivia Munn's makeup style: a bright, intense liner can be fun and
easy to apply. The secret is to first dust a bit of shadow along
the lower lash lines to create some sparkle and contrast. After
lining the top lid in black gel eyeliner, use Revlon Colorstay Creme Gel Eyeliner in Plum to draw
a very thin line along the bottom lashes—this color looks
incredibly gorgeous on brown or hazel eyes.
Sometimes less is more. Julianne Hough keeps her look natural and
fresh with petal cheeks and glossy nude lips. What is the secret to
walk out of the house looking like a million dollars? Beautiful
fluttery lashes. Makeup artist Carmindy says that
using Latisse makes lashes longer, darker, and thicker. This way
you'll surprise anyone with an easy-to-do, neutral looking makeup
that requires little mascara and no false lashes.
