Water in Makeup: 5 Surprisingly Effective Uses

Water is nature’s one of the best gifts to man. It offers several health benefits. Though we all know its hydrating and rejuvenating skin properties, did you know that it also works effectively in multiple ways for makeup? You can use water for not only removing makeup but also for making and applying it. Let us know how.

5 Ways To Use Water For Makeup:

Here are 5 ways on how you can use water for makeup:

1. Use It As A Setting Spray:

Cakey foundation finish looks very unnatural and heavy on the skin. It is now that water comes to your rescue as it works amazingly as a makeup setting spray.

Get some clean distilled water in a spray bottle. Keep it ready on your makeup vanity table and start spraying 1 to 2 pumps of water to your face after you have completed doing your makeup. It sets the makeup by giving a dewy finish and refreshing feeling to the skin. You will instantly notice a healthy and dewy effect on your skin, which makes your makeup appear natural.

2. Intensify Your Eyeshadows:

Love wearing vivid, intense and soft eye makeup, but frustrated with the dull look of the eyeshadows once applied to the eyes? Do you wish to give brighter color intensity to your eye makeup?

Simply damp your eyeshadow brush with some water and then take your favorite eyeshadows for application. Remember not to wet your brush with much water. Otherwise, the eyeshadow will start running down from your eyes. Just damp it with water. Now, your eyeshadow color will appear brighter and intense.

3. Make Your Own Colored Eye Liners:

Love applying different colored eyeliners, but does your tight budget stop you from trying new things? This makeup hack will blow your mind. The most amazing thing about this tip is that you can even use your waste broken eyeshadow in making your eye liner. How?

Start mixing your favorite eyeshadow color with some water in a clean container. There you will have amazingly intense and bright colored liquid eyeliner. Now, you can turn any eyeshadow into eyeliner instantly.

4. Spot Clean Your Makeup Brushes:

If you love applying makeup, you would obviously know which makeup brushes are used for applying blush, contouring and concealing. Are you aware that you should sanitize your makeup brushes? Yes, most of us completely have no knowledge that we should clean them frequently.

You should clean your makeup brushes regularly as a part of your beauty care routine, as makeup brushes hold up bits of makeup, dust, oil, dirt, and also bacteria between those soft bristles. Though cleaning makeup brushes is quick and easy, all you need to do is to buy a makeup brush cleaner solution and wash your brushes with water. Whether a fun party comes up your way in a short notice or you have only a few brushes in your collection, you can spot clean them right away and use them.

To spot clean, spray some water in a clean tissue paper and rub your dirty makeup brushes on it. Then, gently swirl it again on the drier side of the tissue paper to remove any excess water from the makeup brush. Once you spot clean the makeup brushes, allow them to naturally dry for 2 to 3 minutes. You can also use a blow dryer in low intensity and gently blow it over your makeup brushes. This process will remove if any moisture is still left on the makeup brush.

5. Fix Flaky Eye Liner:

Not able to achieve a thin, precise and neat eyeliner look? The formula might have dried out and turned flaky. You can revive it by adding 3 drops of distilled water to the liquid eyeliner. Mix it gently and you will have moist, fresh and creamy formula which will spread evenly on your eyes.
