Can You Make Slime with Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo? (The Science)

While some people have experimented with different shampoos to make slime, Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo is unlikely to work well for making slime.

Here's why:

* Ingredients: The key ingredient in shampoos that helps slime form is usually a polymer like Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) or Polyvinyl Acetate (PVA). Many modern shampoos, including clarifying shampoos, have significantly reduced or replaced these with other cleansers and conditioners.

* Clarifying shampoos and added conditioners: Clarifying shampoos are designed to remove buildup from hair. They often lack the moisturizing agents that can sometimes, in certain shampoo formulations, contribute to slime formation. Clarifying shampoos and conditioners will also prevent the binding of the components of slime together, which keeps it from forming as needed.

Instead of using Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo, it's best to use a tried-and-true slime recipe that specifically calls for the right type of glue, and activator.

Safer Options for Slime Making:

* School Glue: Use Elmer's school glue (clear or white)

* Liquid Starch: This is a common activator.

* Borax: A small amount of borax mixed with water is also a common activator (but use with caution and adult supervision).

* Saline Solution: Can be used as an activator.

Good luck with your slime making!
