Mousse Application: Wet vs. Dry Hair - Best Practices

Mousse is generally best applied to wet or damp hair. Here's why:

* Even Distribution: Wet hair allows the mousse to distribute more evenly throughout your strands, ensuring a consistent hold and volume.

* Better Absorption: Damp hair is more receptive to absorbing the mousse's ingredients, allowing it to work its magic.

* Prevents Stickiness: Applying mousse to dry hair can sometimes result in a sticky or crunchy texture.

However, there are exceptions:

* For reactivating curls: If you have curly hair and want to refresh your curls on a non-wash day, you can use a small amount of mousse on dry hair. Emulsify it in your hands first and then scrunch it into your curls.

How to apply mousse:

1. Wash and condition your hair as usual.

2. Towel-dry your hair to remove excess water. It should be damp, not soaking wet.

3. Shake the mousse can well.

4. Dispense a small amount of mousse into your palm (start with a golf ball-sized amount and adjust as needed).

5. Emulsify the mousse in your hands.

6. Apply the mousse evenly from roots to ends, focusing on the roots for volume.

7. Style your hair as desired (air dry, diffuse, or blow dry).
