Boost Hair Growth: Causes, Solutions & Natural Remedies

Reportedly, human being generally shed 50 hairs everyday, it becomes a problem when the hair loss increases but lack of hair growth is a disorder. It means that there won't be any supplement for the lost hair. It happens due to the death of hair follicles.

Hair is the the body protein cells called keratin and it grows form the minuscule opening of the skin follicles. Human scalp has 100,000 hair follicles. These hair follicles die with age. That's why hair fall is a common problem of oldage. But these days, lack of hair growth is common even among teens. The reason is lack of vitamin and protein in diet, hair abuse like colouring, straightening, perming etc.

Steps to enhance hair growth

1.Massaging –
The best way to enhance hair growth is scalp massaging. It can be done by rubber scalp massager but the best is to use your ten fingers. Massaging the scalp works on blood circulation in your head. It also helps in distributing the natural oils and sebum. Never use your nails to massage your scalp. If you have big nails, use rubber gloves to cover your hand.

2.Hair Oils – Your hair also need food, which are of two kinds, one are hair oils and others is food intake. Hair oil play a great role in your hair growth process. Hair oils rich in vitamin E and protein should be used. Coconut, almond and hibiscus hair oils are one of the best.

Different hair type need different hair oil types. There are light, medium and heavy oils. Thin hair type needs light oil, thick hair type need heavy hair oils.

Oil Application – Your scalp should be massaged 40 minutes before hair wash. The oil should evenly spread all through out your scalp. It is advised to use a blunt comb to apply oil to your scalp. Once oil is put on the scalp, soak your hair with in. This process is also called pre-conditioning of the hair. After 40 minutes, wash your hair with luke warm water. When you massage your hair, it becomes warm, sudden use of cold water may lead to hair breakage. If you are suffering with dandruff, then mix methi powder and lemon into the oil.

Shampoos and Conditioner – The best shampoo is the combination of amla, reetha and shikakai soaked overnight in warm water and crushed before use. They have nutrient values and also protects the colour of your hair. They act as both shampoo and conditioner to your hair.

Markets are flooded with different varieties of shampoos and conditioner. It is advised to go for reputed brands and specially ayurvedic products. Doctors advise to stick to one brand. Constant changing of the brands can have ill-effect on your hair. Understand your hair type and choose the kind of shampoo. Generally, anti-dandruff shampoos are a bit harsh. Make sure you oil your hair thoroughly before using it. The shampoo and conditioner should be washed off your hair completely. If they stay back it can cause infection and discolour your hair.

Brushes And Combs – One should brush their hair thoroughly to avoid tangle. Tangling of the hair is one of the main reasons of hair loss. However, wet hair should never be combed. The pores are weak when the hair is wet, which makes it easy for th hair to break. Even while brushing don't over do it. Keep your hair brush clean to avoid infections. Combing allows the natural oils which are essential for hair to evenly spread on the scalp. For thick long hair, it is best to use combs with wide teeth. Avoid back brushing your hair. Continuous back strokes damage your hair follicles, resulting to no growth in those areas.

Nutrients – Your diet plays an important role in the health of your hair. calcium, chromium, copper, iodine, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium, selenium, silica, sulfur and zinc. The proper blend of amino acids and B-vitamins are some of the nutrients required for the hair health.
