If you have long hair and wondering how to apply this scented application, then here are some of the tips you can follow wisely.
Note for coloured hair: Apply henna to your hair post 6 months of hair colour application. This is to avoid any scalp problems. It is also best for you to test the application at the back of your ear to see if it agrees with you or not.
Before applying henna on your head, dab a little coconut oil to your forehead and neck. This will avoid the henna from staining your face.
Comb your hair with a brush to remove the knots from your head. If you want to make the application a lot easier, divide your hair into two parts.
Mix the henna well with the required ingredients - tea decoction and powder. You can also add coffee decoction depending on the weather.
To begin the application, start from the crown of your head and then move to the rest of the strands.
Use a rubber glove to apply the henna on your head. Apply the paste in a uniform manner, not leaving behind any strands.
When you are done with the crown, draw all the hair into a small bun at the center of the head. Twirl the hair perfectly and set it right.
Now start applying the henna evenly on the sides of the hair. Gently take only a small amount of hair.
After applying on the sides, twirl this hair into the same bun which is at the crown of your head. Pat it gently so that the new strands stick well to the existing bun.
Now move to the top of the head. Gather all the head near the forehead and begin to apply the henna. Cover one layer and repeat the application.
Gather the rest of the strands and make sure you cover the entire head with the henna paste.
It is very important to not leave out the areas which grey the most. Like - the neck region and the hair at the borderline of your forehead.
When you have completed the entire application. Smoothen the henna over your hair using the palm of your hand.
For best results it is good to wrap a plastic cover over your head. However, this will induce a head cold. So, it is advisable to cover your hair depending on the weather.
Leave the henna in your hair for at least 2 hours. Rinse off with running water.
