Most boils can be red coloured or round shaped swelling roofed with pus. Furuncle is a term that refers to a typical boil which starts to crop up in a hair follicle or oil gland. It is a deep folliculitis- an infection of a single hair follicle.

What causes boils on the scalp? Boils are mostly formed due to the infection and inflammation of the hair follicles in the skin. The infection is generally caused due to bacteria, especially staphylococcus. They attack most parts of the body that have hair on them and the boils commonly appear in the regions like scalp, face, breasts, neck and armpits.

You can apply the extract of this vegetable on your scalp to strengthen your hair as well to cure the boils. Bitter gourd can be used to even repair your damaged hair.. Take 2 tbsp of fresh lemon juice and half cup of bitter gourd juice. Mix them properly in a container. Gently massage this mixture on your scalp for 10 minutes.
