HOW TO APPLY EYE MAKEUP FOR GLASSES WEARERS (17 MAKEUP TIPS AND TRICKS)

  • If you wear glasses and you look for some makeup tips and tricks that can help you create elegant and beautiful looks, you are in the right place. Today, let me share with you some beauty knowledge on how to apply eye makeup for glasses wearers:

    1# Eyeliner

An liner can become one of your best beauty friends when it comes to making your eyes pop and stand out. It can instantly make your eyes look more defined and attractive. It’s entirely up to you which eyeliner formula you decide to chose: gel, liquid or pencil. On my opinion, gel eyeliners work the best, they are very easy to apply and they stay on the whole day. (My favorite gel eyeliner is Mac Backtrack). Here is one important eyeliner makeup tip for beautiful glasses wearers: the thicker your frames – the thicker your eyeliner can be and, if your frames are tiny – draw thinner line with your eyeliner, this beauty trick will add balance and harmony to your look.

    2# Smudged eyeliner

Try to play with smudged eyeliner, if you find that precise line looks too harsh on your eyes…Just apply soft eyeliner pencil (black, brown or gray) on your upper/lower lid and gently smudge it, using your smudging brush. Soft and gentle smoke that this smudged eyeliner creates will draw attention to your eyes without looking too sharp.

3# Another way to define your eyes

If you experience hard times using those soft eyeliner pencils, then, try this makeup trick: draw a thick line with your black/brown eyeliner pencil on the back of your hand and then, pick up some of this color with your thin smudging brush and apply the product on your lash line (try to keep it as close to your lash line, as possible). This beauty tip will easily help add some definition to your eyes and your eye makeup will look very soft and elegant.

4# Bigger and brighter eyes how-to

If you want your eyes to look brighter and, even, bigger, apply light colored eye pencil on your waterline (you can chose an eye pencil similar to your skin tone or one/two shades lighter), it will help open up your eyes and make you look well rested and fresh.

5# Brighten it up even more

If you want to go further and brighten up your eyes even more, apply a light, shimmery champagne color into the inner corners of your eyes.

    6# Soft eyes

If you are in a hurry and you don’t have time to make that precise, sophisticated eyeliner flick – you can leave your eyes bare or swipe a soft, neutral color (beige or shimmery champagne) on your entire eyelid and then, add a pop of bright color on your lips (red, coral or bright pink). You will look elegant, fresh, modern and chic!

7# An eyeliner all around your eyes

Apply your black or brown eyeliner (or eye pencil) all around your eyes – this makeup tip for glasses wears can be really useful, when you want your eyes stand out and your eye color pop.

    8# Blue eyeliner

If you want to make the whites of your eyes appear brighter – apply bright blue eyeliner on your upper lash line. (Try it, it works. Try it even if your eyes aren’t blue.)

9# Don’t forget your lower lid

When your eye makeup is almost complete, try to add a little bit of shimmer on your lower lid (light champagne shimmery eyeshadow will do a good job), it will add sophisticated elegance too your look and help brighten up your eyes.

10# Your frames and your makeup should work together

The frames of your glasses should work together with your makeup, therefore, try to use those eyeshadow colors that compliment the tone of your frames; you can also change your frames colors and play, combining it with fun makeup looks!

    11# Smoky eyes

Whether your wear glasses or not, you can always play with unlimited variations of smoky eyes; improvise, combining colors, shimmer and different eyeliner shades; your eyes will look gorgeous behind your glasses.

13# The right type of mascara

If you wear glasses, it doesn’t mean that mascara isn’t for you. Don’t be afraid to apply generous coats of it on your lashes. A good mascara will make your eyes stand out and pop. Only remember, if you want to avoid those undesirable mascara smudges on your lenses, chose the right type mascara – pick up a smudgeproof or waterproof formula, this way the lenses of your glasses will stay clean all day long. Don’t be shy, apply those two coats!

    14# Eyelash dye option

If you look for a timesaver – an eyelash dye can become a great alternative to mascara, not only it will make your eyes look more defined (yet natural) and your lenses will always stay mascara-free, but also, eyelash dye can save you plenty of time in the morning when you do your makeup.

    15# Eyelash curler

If you want your eyes to stand out, don’t forget about your eyelash curler. Even, if you prefer not to use mascara – curl your lashes, it will make them a lot more visible, yet very natural.

16# No more under eye circles

Don’t forget to brighten up your under eye area, using light weight concealer, ideally, with light reflective particles in it; this eye brightener will help cover up your under eye circles and make you look well rested and fresh. (Here are, on my opinion, some of the best concealers for dark circles: Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener, YSL Touche Éclat Radiant Touch Highlighter,  IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye.)

17# Perfect brows to complete the look

Make your eye makeup complete by perfecting your eyebrows. Use an eyebrow pencil, a brow gel or a brow powder to enhance the shape of your brows and make them look impeccable.

And, of course, don’t forget to perfect your complexion, using your favorite foundation, add a touch of blush on the apples of your cheeks and a highlighter on your cheekbones. Now you are ready to go out and conquer the world!

I hope you’ve found these makeup tips and tricks useful.
