Natural Moisturizers: 6 Chemical-Free Alternatives for Hair, Skin & Nails

6 CHEMICAL-FREE NATURAL MOISTURIZING SUBSTITUTES FOR YOUR HAIR, SKIN AND NAILS

  • Top 6 Chemical-free natural moisturizing substances for your hair, skin and nails

There are so many creams, lotions, moisturizers and hair care products on the market that it’s very easy to get lost. Most of these products are packed with harmful chemicals and preservatives that can bring you more damage, than good, because after being absorbed by your body multiple times, they create toxic build-up, which is not the most beneficial thing for your system. Today, let’s look at some natural skin care products and chemical-free moisturizing substitutes that you can use to moisturize and hydrate your hair, skin and nails. Let’s begin:

    1) Olive oil

Almost everyone has olive oil in their kitchen. Little do some people know that olive oil can become our perfect face and body moisturizer. Warm up couple of drops of olive oil between your hands and gently massage it into your wet, already cleansed face. Men can use olive oil as all natural after shave product, it will nourish and sooth the skin, making it super soft. You can use olive oil as a body lotion: massage your body with it while in the shower and then, pat your skin dry with a towel; it will make your body extremely soft and smooth. Also, you can use olive oil instead of shaving cream: just apply some olive oil on your already wet legs and then, shave them as you usually do. Your shave will be very smooth and, simply, perfect. Try it! It works!

    2) Coconut oil

Coconut oil is one of my favorite beauty friends. I always keep a bottle of it in my bathroom. Not only you can use it as your natural face and body moisturizer, but also, you can apply coconut oil on your hair, on your lips and on your hands. I love doing coconut oil hair treatment: warm up a couple of table spoons of coconut oil on a warm bath (make sure the oil isn’t hot, it should be comfortable to touch); massage the oil into the roots of your dry hair (do it before shampooing), spread the rest on the length, put on a shower cup and then, a towel; let olive oil sink into your hair for about 30 minutes, then shampoo and condition as usual. Your hair will feel soft, look shiny and will be a lot easier manageable.

    3) Sweet almond oil

This is one of my favorite night time treatments. I love applying sweet almond oil on my skin and neck before going to bed (if you don’t like that greasy feeling, get rid of the excess oil by patting your skin dry with a tissue). I also love applying it on my eyelashes and eyebrows, to nourish them and make them grow faster. Packed with vitamins and antioxidants, sweet almond oil helps fight free radicals, making you look younger for longer. I also love using it as my all natural hand cream: apply sweet almond oil on your hands and massage some of it into your cuticles, it will leave your hands very soft and smooth!

    4) Eggs

Everyone can find an egg in their kitchen. Not only this versatile product is very tasty when your cook it, but also, it can be used as a natural hair and skin moisturizer. Here is how I make my favorite homemade face mask: I mix one egg yolk with one table spoon of olive oil and apply it on my face. I keep it on for 5-10 minutes and then, rinse it with lukewarm water. It helps nourish and hydrate the skin, making it soft and smooth. Also, you can use beaten eggs to wash your hair, just mix egg yolks and whites together and use it instead of your usual shampoo, then rinse it out and condition your hair as usual. I love doing egg shampooing once a week (other times I use my usual shampoo).

    5) Rose water

Not only rose water smells awesome, but also, you can use it for various beauty purposes. I love spraying my face with rose water in the morning for a pleasant and beautiful start of the day. I also enjoy using it as my face toner: soak a cotton pad with rose water and wipe your face with this natural and fresh toner, it will hydrate and soften the skin, making your make up application a lot smoother. Mix some rose water with a little bit of beetroot juice and apply it on your lips as all natural lip tint, not only it will add that pretty rosy color, but also, it will nourish and gently hydrate your lips. Add some rose water into your bath and enjoy soft and beautiful skin. You can also spray rose water all over your body to nourish and hydrate it. You’ll smell amazing, like a fresh rose!

    6) Aloe vera

Aloe vera plant has been used for thousands of years as a wonderful remedy from various diseases. It’s amazing benefits are countless. Aloe Vera can efficiently fight aging, decrease pigmentation, brighten up the skin, sooth irritation, prevent stretch marks and scarring, help your hair grow faster, help you get rid of dandruff, etc. For example, Egyptian Queen Cleopatra loved using Aloe Vera on her body and hair. Not only you can use aloe vera gel as your hair conditioner and body moisturizer, but also, you can create various other beauty treatments mixing this amazing ingredient with other natural products: mix 3 table spoons of Aloe Vera gel with 4 table spoons of brown sugar, add 3 table spoons of olive oil and massage your body with this wonderful, natural scrub, it will make your skin soft, smooth and beautiful.

I hope you’ve found these beauty tips useful.
