Cosmetic body procedures offered by Associates in Plastic Surgery range from abdominoplasty to lower body lifts and liposuction, to name a few.

Abdominoplasty
Also commonly known as a tummy tuck, abdominoplasty removes excess fat and skin from the abdomen and in most cases restores weakened or separated muscles creating an abdominal profile that is smoother and firmer. A tummy tuck is not a substitute for weight loss or an appropriate exercise program.

Lower Body Lift
A lower body lift is a surgical procedure that tightens loose, sagging skin in the abdomen, thighs, buttocks and hip areas. It utilizes incisions that pass from the back around the hips and abdomen. The loose skin, as well as underlying fat tissue, is removed and central body contour is greatly improved. The decision to utilize lower body lifting techniques depends upon your goals and expectations as well as an examination by your surgeon.

Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)
An arm lift, also known as brachioplasty, can remove the excess skin and fat deposits, leaving the upper arms with a more pleasing and youthful contour. As a person ages, upper arm skin can become loose and flabby. Your plastic surgeon will consult with you about undergoing surgery for an arm lift if you wish to tighten this skin to look and feel more youthful. The incision extends from the elbow to the underarm, and sometimes on to the side of the chest. In some instances, your plastic surgeon may recommend that liposuction be used alone or in conjunction with an arm lift to remove excess fat in the upper arms.

Thigh Lift
A thigh lift reshapes the thighs by reducing excess skin, and in some cases fat resulting in smoother skin and better-proportioned contours of the thighs and lower body. If fitness and weight loss efforts have not achieved your goals for a body that is firmer, more youthful-looking and more proportionate to your overall body image, a surgical thigh lift may be right for you.

Post Bariatric Body Contouring
Body contouring after major weight loss reduces the excess skin and fat that is left behind from the expansion of skin, loss of fat and lack of tissue elasticity that often occurs after weight loss. This sagging skin commonly develops around the face, neck, upper arms, breasts, abdomen, buttocks and thighs and can make your body contour appear irregular and misshapen.

If you have undergone dramatic weight loss either through diet and exercise alone or with the aid of bariatric surgery and you are at your optimum weight loss goal you may be a good candidate for body contouring procedures. The most common post bariatric body contouring procedures include lower body lifts, abdominoplasty, thighplasty and brachioplasty, as well as facial procedures.

Liposuction (Lipoplasty)
Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty, slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits, improving your body contours and proportion and ultimately enhancing your self-image. Despite good health and a reasonable level of fitness, some people may still have a body with disproportionate contours due to localized fat deposits. These areas may be due to family traits rather than a lack of weight control or fitness.

While liposuction may be a good solution, it is important to know that this is not a treatment for obesity or a substitute for proper diet and exercise. It is also not an effective treatment for cellulite, the dimpled skin that typically appears on the thighs, hips and buttocks, or loose, sagging skin.
